The Attendance Formula
Attendance % = (Classes Attended ÷ Total Classes Held) × 100
Example: You attended 42 out of 50 classes → (42 ÷ 50) × 100 = 84%
Minimum Attendance Requirements
- Engineering (AICTE): 75%
- Medical (NMC): 80%
- Law (BCI): 75%
- CBSE Schools: 75% for board exams
How Many Classes Can I Skip?
If you need to maintain 75% and have attended 42/50:
Classes you can skip = (Attended × 100 / Target) − Total
= (42 × 100 / 75) − 50 = 56 − 50 = 6 classes
Our Attendance Calculator does this math instantly.
What If I'm Below the Required Percentage?
If you're at 60% and need 75%:
Classes to attend = (Target × Total − 100 × Attended) / (100 − Target)
= (75 × 50 − 100 × 30) / (100 − 75) = 750 / 25 = 30 consecutive classes
