The Problem with Cramped Slides

Most lecture slides use the entire page, leaving no room for you to write your own thoughts, formulas, or diagrams when you print them out.

The Solution: Custom Margins

By adding 40-100 points of margin to the sides of your PDF, you create a dedicated "annotation zone" for your handwritten notes.

How to Add Space for Notes

  1. Upload your document to the Add Margins tool.
  2. Set your desired margins. We recommend 80pt for a comfortable writing area.
  3. Use the Live Preview to ensure the content remains readable.
  4. Download and print!

Best Settings for Students

  • Left/Right Margins: Use these for binders or spiral-bound notebooks.
  • Bottom Margins: Great for adding summaries at the end of each slide.
  • Top Margins: Useful for adding titles or dates.

Printing Tips

When printing a PDF with extra margins, ensure your printer settings are set to "Actual Size" rather than "Fit to Page" to preserve the extra white space you just created.
